In October 2013, Cirilic went into WedgeView studio, deep in the beautiful Dutch countryside, and recorded their debut album “A Golden Age” which was produced by well-known producer and pianist Wiboud Burkens. The album features new takes on Russian romantic music of the 19th century and also original compositions of guitarist Kirill Yakovlev. The album was released with a help of Karel Holas, who is a violinist, singer and band-leader of Czech folk band Cechomor.
“Yakovlev’s guitar playing wonderfully combines elements of jazz, classical, and world music to provide a lush backdrop for the magical, other worldly, ethnic sounds to unfold on. This is a great record! Not to be missed. ” Brian Charette – jazz organist and composer (NY)
